Living Full

by Carolyn Hope

Indeed I have all and abound. I am full … (Philippians 4:18)

The book of Philippians is one of my personal favorites. It exudes joy from every page and is full of cheerful instruction. It’s easy to write and speak in such a way when life is going well; Paul, however, writes this letter from a prison cell.

As highlighted in the verse above, Paul truly knew how to live a full life. He was complete and content in Christ. He always had more than enough within him to face what came against him.

This week, I’d like to focus on a handful of verses from Philippians chapter four and draw forth several ways we can live full lives. Jesus said he came to bring us a full, abundant life (see John 10:10). As children of God, we can live full of gratitude, joy, and peace, for starters. Over the next few days, my hope is that your confidence in your identity will rise and carry you into a deeper fullness than before.
